Panasonic L-Class Kitchen Review: Glario Counter & Raku-Through Sink

Hi everyone, it’s Twilife.

Our kitchen features Panasonic’s top-of-the-line model, the “L-Class.”
And the true face of this kitchen is the worktop (the countertop and sink).

We absolutely refused to compromise on this area, prioritizing not just beautiful aesthetics, but also high durability and ease of maintenance.

Today, I’ll be sharing an in-depth review of our chosen combination: the “Glario Counter (Modero White)” and the “Raku-Through Sink (White).” After months of daily use, here are our honest thoughts on its usability, minor quirks, and our simple cleaning routine.

Our Chosen Worktop Specs & Why We Picked Them

First, let’s look at the specifications of our worktop.

To ensure it blended seamlessly with the rest of our home, we opted for “Modero White”—a warm, slightly muted white rather than a stark, bright white.
We had a stainless steel counter in our previous apartment, but it always felt a bit cold and industrial, and we were constantly bothered by hard water spots and tiny scratches. That’s why this time, we chose Panasonic’s proprietary “Sugopika” material (an advanced organic glass-based artificial marble).

The Appeal of the Glario Countertop
(Modero White)

Let’s start with our prep space: the Glario Counter.

Natural Stone Texture That Hides Messes

Modero White isn’t a flat, boring white. It features a natural stone-like texture with subtle speckles and lines. The surface even has a slightly rugged, stone-like feel. Beyond looking gorgeous, it’s highly functional.

Even if oil or seasonings splatter while cooking, the pattern easily camouflages the mess.
Obviously, we wipe it up right away instead of leaving it, but not having to be overly paranoid about every little drop is a huge mental relief.

Reassuring Durability and Hardness

When people hear “artificial marble,” many worry that it might be vulnerable to heat or impacts.

I had the same concern initially, but the moment you touch the Glario Counter, its high density and “solid stone” feel are immediately apparent.
It’s technically rated with very high hardness, but just intuitively feeling that it’s incredibly tough is so important for peace of mind during daily use.

We chose the slim counter profile, which is 17mm thick

Actually, I once dropped a glass bowl onto the counter while washing dishes, and it shattered spectacularly…
But when I timidly checked the surface, there wasn’t a single scratch on the countertop.
I haven’t accidentally stabbed it with a chef’s knife yet, but if that ever happens, I’ll be sure to let you know the result!

By the way, there is honestly not a single thing I dislike or find “annoying” about this countertop so far!

Usability of the
“Raku-Through” Sink

Next up is our review of the sink area.

Zero-Step Seamless Molding & Excellent Drainage

The “Raku-Through Sink” is made from the exact same “Sugopika” material as the countertop.
Its biggest advantage is the seamless, integrated molding with absolutely zero steps or joints between the counter and the sink.

Despite a slight difference in texture, the design is perfectly seamless with no joints

You never have to worry about grime or mold building up in caulking gaps—a common issue with stainless steel sinks.
You can literally just sweep crumbs directly from the counter right into the sink.
The drainage is also on another level. Water beads up and rolls off as if the sink has a heavy water-repellent coating, meaning hard water stains are completely a non-issue, even with a white sink.

The Low-Key Brilliant Detergent Rack

To be honest, purely on design, I slightly preferred the sharp corners of the “Square Sink” and debated between the two.
However, the inclusion of this specific “detergent rack” was the deciding factor for choosing the Raku-Through sink.

The rack allows us to keep our dish soap and hand soap bottles perfectly clean

Because we can store wet sponges, dish soap, and hand soap floating in a designated spot, the area around the sink stays perfectly clean.
Without this rack, you are forced to place these items directly on the countertop, making it incredibly difficult to find a solution that is both aesthetically pleasing and hygienic.

In the end, we are so incredibly glad we went with the Raku-Through Sink.

Does It Stain Easily?

The biggest concern anyone has with a white sink is usually color transfer from things like curry or tomato sauce.

Pigments Can Stain Initially

If you spill turmeric powder while making a spice curry, for instance, that spot will instantly dye a solid yellow.

However, Panasonic’s official claim isn’t that “stains don’t stick,” but rather that “stains are easy to remove.”
They aren’t lying. Even stubborn yellow turmeric stains that won’t wipe away with water can be completely erased back to normal with a light scrub from a magic eraser sponge.

The stain doesn’t actually soak into the material itself; it just sits on the surface.
Having the peace of mind that you can always “reset” the sink is wonderful.

Our Daily Maintenance Routine

Finally, let me share our super simple worktop cleaning routine.

Super Easy Worktop Care!
  • Daily: At the end of cooking or cleaning up after a meal, we just give it a quick wipe-down with a damp dishcloth (or paper towel).
  • When it needs a bit more (about once a week): We wash the whole surface using a sponge with mild dish soap, rinse it with water, and wipe it dry.
  • For tough pigment stains (as needed): Lightly dampen a magic eraser sponge and rub gently.

That’s basically it.
We don’t use any special coating sprays or dedicated cleaners, yet even after months of use, it still maintains its brand-new whiteness and gorgeous texture.

Conclusion: The Ultimate Worktop
Combining Form and Function

The L-Class Kitchen’s combination of the “Glario Counter” and “Raku-Through Sink” masterfully balances a beautiful, interior-friendly stone texture with heavy-duty durability and easy cleaning.

For a couple who loves to cook, having a worktop we can use freely without being paranoid about scratches and stains has made our time in the kitchen so much more enjoyable.

If you are currently designing your kitchen and are torn on countertop or sink materials,
I can confidently recommend the “Sugopika” material!
