Panasonic L-Class Kitchen Review: Honest Pros & Cons from Cooking Enthusiasts

Hi everyone, it’s Twilife.

When planning the layout and fixtures for the custom home we built with Sumitomo Forestry in 2025, the one area we obsessed over the most was the “Kitchen.”
Since my husband and I both love cooking and stand in the kitchen together almost every day, its usability directly impacts our quality of life.

Out of all the manufacturers, we chose Panasonic’s flagship “L-Class Kitchen.”

We chose an I-shaped wall-mounted layout to integrate into our custom U-shaped design.

Our strong desire for the “Triple-Wide Induction Cooktop” made Panasonic the only logical choice.
After using it daily, we are fully convinced we made the right decision.

Today, I’ll walk you through our kitchen’s specifications, why we chose each component, and share our honest thoughts—both the pros and the minor cons—after months of daily use.

Our Kitchen Specifications at a Glance

Here are the main specs we selected.
We coordinated everything in muted, understated tones so it blends seamlessly into our living space.

Our absolute favorite: The Triple-Wide Induction Cooktop

Let’s dive into what we love and what we think could be improved for each feature.
I’ve also written detailed, standalone reviews for these components, so be sure to check those out if a specific feature catches your eye!

1. Countertop & Sink: Durability Meets Design

As the face of the kitchen, we prioritized easy maintenance and high-quality texture for our worktop.

What We Love
  • Excellent water repellency and scratch resistance (Sugopika material)
  • Seamless integration makes cleaning a breeze
  • The stone-like texture hides minor stains beautifully
  • Incredibly durable (dropping a glass bowl leaves no mark)
Minor Drawbacks…
  • Strong pigments like turmeric can stain initially
  • *Easily removed with a magic eraser sponge

We had a stainless steel counter in our previous apartment, but we were truly blown away by the water repellency and scratch resistance of Panasonic’s proprietary “Sugopika” (an advanced organic glass) material.
We chose white, and hard water stains are virtually non-existent.

The Glario Counter has a rugged, natural stone-like texture that not only masks dirt but also brings a sophisticated, premium vibe to the space.

2. Cabinet Fronts: Stucco White

To ensure the kitchen harmonized with our interior styling, we searched for a “muted white” that didn’t look overly mass-produced.
We landed on “Stucco White” from the Arco 50 Series.

What We Love
  • The textured white blends perfectly into the living space
  • You can open drawers from anywhere along the edge
  • Very easy to wipe away dust and splatters
A subtle, sophisticated nuanced texture

Our biggest priority here was the “Handleless Design.”
Not only does it look incredibly sleek, but because the groove runs along the entire top edge of the drawer, you can pull it open no matter where you are standing.

When the two of us are cooking side-by-side, I can easily slide open a drawer to grab seasonings without asking my husband to step aside.
It’s a feature we highly recommend, as it eliminates tiny daily frustrations.

Cleaning is as simple as wiping the groove

3. Triple-Wide Induction & Range Hood

This “Triple-Wide Induction Cooktop” is the primary reason we chose Panasonic.

What We Love
  • Fits 3 pots side-by-side, leaving prep space right in front
  • Zero lip between the cooktop and counter makes shaking pans easy
  • The range hood looks sharp and is surprisingly easy to clean
Minor Drawbacks…
  • The main power button’s responsiveness takes getting used to
  • Turning off the cooktop automatically turns off the hood’s light

Because you can line up three pots horizontally, there is plenty of room right in front of the burners to place a cutting board or plates.
Even when cooking together, we never feel cramped for space.

We chose the Stone Black finish, which hides splatters brilliantly (and a pleasant surprise: it was actually cheaper than the standard black finish!), and we couldn’t be happier.

We use Ballarini pans in various sizes, and even with two 30cm pans and a stockpot lined up, everything fits comfortably.

The spacious layout around the cooktop is a game-changer

As for the range hood, we debated heavily before opting for the “Stylish Hood” over their self-cleaning model.
It turns out it requires very little maintenance anyway, so it was the right choice for us.

Simple structure makes it easy to dismantle for cleaning

Of course, there are a few quirks, mostly regarding the control interface.
I’ve detailed these minor annoyances in a separate post, so feel free to check that out.

4. 60cm Front-Loading Dishwasher

This appliance single-handedly revolutionized our daily chores.
We simply load an entire day’s worth of dishes, pots, and pans at night and hit start.
The cleaning power and heater drying are flawless—everything comes out sparkling without any pre-rinsing.

We also love that we can toss in our dishwasher-safe silicone “Stasher” bags without a second thought.
They are incredibly versatile for microwave and oven cooking, too.

Being able to use standard, off-the-shelf dishwasher detergent is also a great money-saver.

We currently use JOY PRO Dishwasher Detergent

Caution: Do You Really Need the Default Organizers?

Finally, if you are considering a Panasonic kitchen, there is one crucial thing to watch out for.

Are the standard modular dividers actually useful?

Panasonic kitchens come with several black plastic dividers and lid holders inside the drawers.
While being able to rearrange them sounds convenient… they didn’t suit our workflow at all, so we boldly removed them.

In particular, the “sliding inner tray” under the sink frequently bumped into tall plates and mugs.
We ended up having a much more versatile and tidy setup using aftermarket organizers from brands like Yamazaki.

The standard modules we removed

If you plan to visit a showroom, I highly recommend visualizing your own tableware and pots, and asking yourself, “Will I actually use these standard dividers?”
(If you know you won’t need them, you might even be able to ask them to deliver the kitchen without them!)

Conclusion: Making Daily Cooking a Joy

Today, I shared the overall specifications and our honest review of our Panasonic L-Class Kitchen.

While I mentioned a few minor critiques, overall, we are overwhelmingly satisfied.
A beautiful, highly functional kitchen undeniably turns the time spent cooking every day into a true joy.

As we continue to use it over the next year or two, I’m sure we’ll discover new impressions and maintenance tricks, which I’ll be sure to share on the blog.
