Hi everyone, it’s Twilife.
To ensure we can do laundry regardless of the weather or time of day, our household is strictly “indoor drying only.”
We built a dedicated laundry room on the second floor of our new house, and the most crucial player in that space is the dehumidifier.
After comparing various brands, we finally welcomed the LG “PuriCare” Dehumidifier.
As usual, I was initially drawn to its beautiful design, but its incredibly powerful dehumidifying capabilities and smart features have drastically simplified my daily chores.
Today, I’ll share an honest review of what we love about this dehumidifier after months of actual use, as well as a few minor points you should know before buying.
A Beautiful Design That Doesn’t Look Like an Appliance
The first thing that catches your eye is this minimalist design stripped of all unnecessary elements.

Dehumidifiers tend to look bulky and distinctly “mechanical,” but the PuriCare features a matte finish and smooth curves, making it look almost like an art piece.
The handle is integrated into the design, so even when placed in the laundry room, it doesn’t exude that typical “chore vibe.”
For a household like ours that values interior aesthetics, it was the perfect design.
Incredible Moisture Removal & Whisper-Quiet Operation
It’s not just about looks; its core performance as a dehumidifier is top-tier.
Dries Thick Clothes Perfectly
We use it in combination with a circulator fan, and our laundry dries surprisingly fast and crisp.
Even the notoriously hard-to-dry hoods of thick sweatshirts or large bed sheets are completely dry by the next morning if left overnight.
Because it’s a compressor-type dehumidifier, it keeps electricity consumption low, meaning we can use it every day without worrying about the power bill.

So Quiet You Can Sleep Through It
What truly shocked me, however, is how quiet it is while running.
Compressor-type dehumidifiers are generally known for a loud, vibrating “hum,” but LG’s PuriCare, thanks to its proprietary dual-inverter technology, is astonishingly quiet.
Both our bedroom and laundry room are on the second floor, but even when it’s running, the noise doesn’t bother us in the slightest.
Features That Enhance Daily Usability
Because it’s something we use every day, ease of maintenance and operation is crucial.
Control It from Anywhere via the App

Being able to link it with the dedicated “LG ThinQ” smartphone app proved more convenient than I imagined.
Even while relaxing in the living room, I can turn the power on/off or change modes from my phone. If I suddenly realize, “Oh, I forgot to turn on the dehumidifier!”, I don’t have to trudge all the way up to the second-floor laundry room.

More importantly, the app sends a notification when the tank is full, ensuring I never forget to empty the water.
Easy One-Handed Water Disposal

The most tedious part of owning a dehumidifier is emptying the water tank.
The PuriCare tank features a solid handle, allowing you to slide it out smoothly with one hand.
It comes with a cover so water doesn’t easily spill while carrying it, and pouring it out is incredibly smooth.
Dumping a massive amount of collected water into the slop sink is actually one of my favorite chores now (laughs).
Smooth Casters & Shoe Drying Accessory
While the unit itself is reasonably heavy, it has smooth casters on the bottom, allowing you to glide it around with one hand while cleaning the room.

Furthermore, the included “Y-shaped shoe drying attachment” is brilliant!
You attach a hose and blow air directly into your shoes. It’s a lifesaver when you need to dry sneakers soaked from the rain or hand-washed indoor slippers.
Minor Drawbacks We Noticed
While I am highly satisfied with both the features and design, I want to be completely honest about a few “almost perfect” points.
The Touch Panel Can Be Finicky
The control panel on top is a flat, seamless touch panel, which looks very stylish… However, there are times when you think you pressed it but it didn’t register, or conversely, if you just brush against it lightly while wiping it down, it beeps and changes the mode. It’s a trade-off between sleek design and the reliability of physical buttons.
No Voice Control (Alexa) or Smart Home Integration
Our household relies heavily on Alexa for voice-controlling lights and other devices, but currently, this dehumidifier does not support voice control via smart speakers.
Also, because it doesn’t use an infrared remote, you can’t hack it with a smart hub like SwitchBot. (Though smartphone app control works fine).
If I could just say, “Turn on the dehumidifier,” it would have been absolute perfection.
Conclusion: Making Indoor Drying a Breeze
Despite minor drawbacks like touch panel sensitivity and lack of voice control, the benefits—“beauty that doesn’t disrupt the interior,” “overwhelming dehumidification power,” and “astonishing quietness”—far outweigh them.
The happiness of being freed from the damp stress of indoor drying and being able to wear crisp, fluffy clothes every single day. The LG PuriCare supports this comfortable lifestyle and is truly a purchase I’m glad we made.
Thank you so much for reading to the end.
