Hi everyone, it’s Twilife.
In our previous apartment, we relied entirely on a robot vacuum for our daily cleaning. However, moving into our new home gave us the perfect excuse to finally upgrade to a stick vacuum I had been eyeing for a while.
And here it is: the Shark Cordless Stick Vacuum “CleanSense iQ+ (Model: IW4171JCP)”.
Not only is the design absolutely stunning, but its power and usability have far exceeded our expectations. It has quickly become an indispensable, reliable partner in our daily lives.
Today, I’ll share a detailed review of what we love about it after months of daily use, as well as a few minor points that left us wanting just a little bit more.
A Beautiful Design That Blends into the Space

We chose the color “Light Copper.”
It’s a pale, sophisticated gold tone that is quite rare for stick vacuums.
It blends seamlessly with our beige-toned interior and tiled floors, making it an absolute joy to use.
Right now, we store it in the closet under the stairs, but the design is so beautiful that I wouldn’t mind leaving it out in the open so we can grab it at a moment’s notice.
Surprisingly Powerful Suction
You really wouldn’t expect it from its sleek appearance, but the suction power is incredibly strong.
360° Cleaning Leaves No Dust Behind

One thing that personally blew me away was the structure of the floor nozzle.
It forcefully sucks up dirt not just when pushing forward, but also when pulling back, and even from both sides of the head.
You don’t have to go back and forth over the same spot. The sensation of it vacuuming up everything in one fell swoop is incredibly satisfying, and you can truly feel its power.
It also automatically detects edges and boosts suction power, which is fantastic for easily grabbing dust trapped along the baseboards.
Blue LED Illuminates Hidden Dust
The entire first floor of our house features Hirata Tile’s “Carriere.” While the pattern is great for hiding dust and hair, it also makes it notoriously difficult to tell if the floor is actually clean.

However, the nozzle of this vacuum is equipped with a blue LED light. When it illuminates the floor, fine dust that is nearly invisible to the naked eye stands out crystal clear.
Thanks to this, we rarely miss any spots, and being able to visually confirm that every corner is spotless has drastically increased our satisfaction with cleaning.
Convenient Features That Make Life Easier
It’s also packed with clever features designed to reduce the hassle of daily maintenance.
Auto-Empty Dock: Toss the Trash Once a Month

Simply by returning the vacuum to its dock (charging base), it automatically sucks the dirt out of the unit and stores it in the large-capacity bin.
True to their claims, you only need to empty the trash about once a month, and it’s a simple, one-touch process.

Being freed from the stress of watching dust fly everywhere every time you empty the bin is truly liberating.
Hygienic Washable Brush Roll
Another great point is how intuitively the parts can be removed.

Furthermore, the brush roll inside the head can be easily removed and washed entirely with water.

It has an anti-hair wrap design, and the fact that you can keep it constantly hygienic by washing it provides great peace of mind for long-term use.
Versatile Attachments for a Sparkling Home

Because it easily converts into a handheld vacuum, you can swap out the plentiful included attachments to clean sofa crevices, window tracks, beds, and rugs—all with this one appliance.
Minor Drawbacks We Noticed
While we are highly satisfied with this vacuum, I want to be completely honest about a few “almost perfect” points we noticed specifically because of our home’s layout.
Battery Falls Short for Larger Homes
The first floor of our house is about 40 tatami mats (approx. 65 sqm / 700 sqft) in total, including the pantry and raised seating area. If we vacuum the whole area thoroughly, the battery dies just as we finish the first floor.
Because of this, our routine now involves “taking a break to recharge” before tackling the second floor.
It’s perfectly fine for compact homes or those who prefer to clean floor by floor, but if you want to vacuum your entire house in one go, the battery capacity might feel a bit lacking.
No FLEX Function for This Color…
Shark vacuums offer a very convenient “FLEX function” where the pipe bends in the middle, allowing you to clean under sofas and beds without bending over.
However, the specific “Light Copper (IW4171JCP)” model we fell in love with doesn’t come with this feature.
Do we choose design or function…? It was a very tough choice, but our household ultimately prioritized design.
Conclusion: Making Cleaning Fun
I brought up a few minor concerns, but even with those, its stylish design and reliable suction power are irreplaceable charms for us.
The exhilarating feeling of powerfully sucking up dirt, combined with the ease of maintenance—just plop it on the dock and you’re done.
It’s a wonderful item that turns the tedious chore of daily cleaning into a slightly more enjoyable time.
I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a powerful vacuum that beautifully blends in with their interior.
Thank you so much for reading to the end.
